low down on yr fashun.

A note to all Malaysian hijabi fashionistas, because we are well known for our tights & colours.

  • You’re not a rainbow, so lay down on the colours, seriously. You still won’t be able to get a free Lapsap pass just because you let the whole colour palette throw up on you because you’re still wearing a hijab.
  • Textures are supposed to be something gorgeous, but frills + lace + animal print + nylon + studs in one outfit is not.
  • Yes you are rich, yes you can afford branded clothes but you don’t necessarily have to parade your whole wardrobe in one outfit! You live in Malaysia where it’s summer & hot 24/7 so layering massively isn’t going to help your whining on how ‘hot it is’.
  • That skirt + leggings combo only works with those who are tall & have long legs. Unfortunately, you don’t possess that.
  • I can’t really say much about ‘too tight/fitting’ clothes because I do wear it, but girl, if your body ain’t working it, then don’t.
  • You’re short.
  • Money can’t buy style.
  • Keep it modest. A friend asked me to point out a monochrome hijabi fashionista once, and I do yearn for one. The best example for now is stylecovered, but she’s pretty too so that’s a plus point.
  • SHORT SLEEVES WITH HIJAB WAS AND WILL NEVER BE IN.
